Jermaine Chambers
Jermaine Chambers is a husband, father of two, and former University of Miami Hurricanes football player. At Miami, Jermaine majored in Finance and Management and played wide receiver.
Jermaine is an experienced automotive business professional and manager at Vera Cadillac Buick GMC. He is also a living kidney donor.
Decades after becoming part of the Miami Hurricanes football brotherhood, Jermaine learned that his former teammate Gerard Daphnis desperately needed a kidney transplant. Knowing Gerard had been disappointed when a potential donor failed to qualify, Jermaine quietly underwent testing without telling him.
Just before Christmas 2018, Jermaine surprised Gerard with a handwritten card bearing an unforgettable message: “I'm your guy – see you on January 10. #CanesForLife.”
In January 2019, Jermaine donated a kidney to his longtime friend. Today, Jermaine advocates for organ donation and shares their extraordinary story of brotherhood.
